KU Leuven university will implement this project in her ‘Master of Teaching in Science and Technology‘ programme. This teacher education track is organised at 9 campuses spread across Flanders (the northern part of Belgium). Apart from its strong focus on and grounding in discipline-specific pedagogical research, the KU Leuven Master of Teaching in Science and Technology has incorporated a strong emphasis on interdisciplinary training of student teachers.

UCN (University College of Northern Denmark) will implement this project in teacher education for primary and lower secondary schools. Students with their main subjects in physics and chemistry will try out the online platform to develop integrated STEM learning materials with an interdisciplinary approach. Experiences from the online platform and the learning materials will be incorporated in future teaching at UCN’s teacher education programme.

 

The aim of the Trefort Ágoston Faculty of Engineering Education of Óbuda University in this project is to develop transversal skills teaching materials that contribute to the development of STEM teachers’ iSTEM skills and to use and share innovative methods in their everyday teaching.

The University of Cyprus, as a technical ICT partner, will use its expertise in designing web platforms, tools and virtual environments for educational and training
purposes – some of which with a strong emphasis on promoting creativity among the user target group – to design, develop and test the CiSTEM² online learning platform that aims to support student teachers’ online cooperative interdisciplinary learning.

As an international NGO, SEFI connects higher engineering education institutions, educators, and stakeholders in Europe with the aim of promoting, developing and improving higher engineering education in order to reinforce the position of the STEM professionals in society. Through this role and via its large network, SEFI will disseminate the results of this project.
